Lysette began her journey as a field trainer with East-West Seed’s Technology Transfer Department in the Philippines. This was a precursor to East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation.
From her early days in the Philippines to her leadership in developing training systems and mentoring colleagues in EWS-KT countries across Africa and Asia, Lysette has been a steady source of knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm. We are grateful for her continued dedication and impact on our work to help farmers thrive, earn a better living, and build a stronger future for their families.
“I am honored to receive the Women in Ag Award, marking 20 years with East-West Seed and East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation this October. This award celebrates not just me, but the collective achievements of farmers, our global EWS-KT team, partners, and stakeholders who make knowledge transfer meaningful and effective.
From my roots in the Philippines to communities across Asia and Africa, I’ve seen how our work turns agricultural knowledge into practical solutions that transform lives. I am always grateful and inspired to continue on what East-West Seed founder Simon Groot once called ‘the right path,’ pursuing my passion for turning knowledge into opportunity for farmers—and showing that agriculture is not just a man’s world, but a space where women can lead and thrive.”
