After winning the World Food Prize in 2019, East-West Seed founder Simon N. Groot dedicated the majority of his prize money to the Pumpkins in Africa project in Uganda, implemented by East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation.

Journalist Natalie Donback recently spoke with Simon and with EWS-KT Director Stuart Morris about the importance of pumpkins, the market for this nutritious crop, and the economic impact on farmers.
