The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, was in the Netherlands this week for a working visit, and East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation’s Board Chair, Rutger Groot, had the opportunity to meet with him on 6 September.

Rutger introduced EWS-KT’s work to train smallholder farmers on improved agricultural techniques and shared EWS-KT’s plans to expand to Ghana in the coming months.

“I was honored to meet with President Akufo-Addo today and discuss how East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation will empower Ghanaian smallholder farmers. It’s my hope that we cemented a foundation to build a successful EWS-KT operation in Ghana,” Rutger said.

Ghana will be the tenth country for EWS-KT, and the fourth in Africa. Visit Where We Work to find out more about the countries in which we operate.
