Our 2023 Annual Report is ready!

Read on for a message from our Director . . .

I am pleased to share with you East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation’s 2023 Annual Report, “Building Farmers’ Skills for Sustainable Livelihoods.”

Last year, we reached more than 167,000 new smallholder farmers in Africa and Asia through our field-based activities—a 20% increase over 2022—while continuing to support farmers from previous years. In addition, 129,750 farmers received advice from other service providers who had been trained by us, and millions more accessed high-quality information on vegetable farming through our digital platforms, radio shows, and printed materials.

In 2023, we started field operations in Ghana and expanded our work in South Sudan. We also devoted more resources to further developing our monitoring, evaluation, and learning capacity and deepening the long-term impact and sustainability of our activities. Our team’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers is truly inspirational.

Our 2023 Annual Report also highlights the important role of partnerships. Working with our knowledge partners, we share the latest horticultural information with farmers and advance solutions to farming challenges, including those related to climate change. With support from our project partners, we are able to equip more farmers with the skills and knowledge to earn a better income and produce greater quantities of quality vegetables for local markets and beyond.

I hope you enjoy reading about our activities over the last year and the impact we are having on farmers’ lives and livelihoods.

Very best regards,

Stuart Morris
