Mar Lar Soe
Mar Lar Soe is the Knowledge Transfer Manager for Myanmar. In this role, Mar Lar leads EWS-KT’s programs to equip smallholder farmers in Myanmar with skills aimed at increasing their income from vegetable production. She works with local and international partners to implement programs across the country, including in conflict areas. Prior to joining EWS-KT, she served as lead for design development and trained national staff for Proximity Design, Myanmar, where she also introduced drip irrigation systems.
Mar Lar has over 15 years of experience working in the NGO and private sectors. She has written over 10 publications and has over 14 years of experience in research regarding the biological control of integrated pest management in plant protection for the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation in Myanmar. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Yezin Agricultural University (Myanmar), a master’s degree from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), a certificate in integrated pest management from the International Rice Research Institute (Philippines), and a certificate in crop production under stress from MASHAV (Israel).
