Girlie Frando

Girlie Frando is the Farmer Extension Manager for East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation. In this role, she oversees all activities related to farmer training and trainer training, with a focus on ensuring the quality of technical content and determining the most effective and inclusive paths for knowledge dissemination. She also leads EWS-KT’s market integration efforts.

Girlie currently also serves as Knowledge Transfer Manager for the Philippines, providing leadership and strategic direction to the project management teams in the Philippines.

With more than two decades of knowledge and expertise, Girlie is highly experienced in identifying opportunities, developing knowledge transfer programs, enabling delivery of tailor-made solutions, and stimulating market-driven innovations for smallholder farmers. She earned her bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. She also holds a certificate in market access on sustainable development from Wageningen University and has completed units toward an MBA at De La Salle University-Manila.
