About the Role:

East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer Foundation (EWS-KT) works hand in hand with farming communities in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Ghana, India, Myanmar, Nigeria, the Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda.

To further expand our operations in Assam, we are seeking to employ Technical Field Advisors. Technical Field Advisors will focus on supporting our goal of sharing knowledge on improved fresh vegetable production practices with smallholder farmers.

By joining EWS-KT, you will become part of a dynamic team that is committed to making a difference in the lives of farmers and contributing to global food security.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify villages for interventions; select and coach  smallholder farmers on vegetable production techniques.
  • Provide technical support in 10 to 15 selected villages per year, establishing 40 demonstration plots per year.
  • Establish and support key farmer demonstration plots as practical learning sites for farmers.
  • Train 1,000 to 1,200 farmers per year in these demonstration plots, with each farmer attending 2 to 5 practical training sessions in one season.
  • Ensure regular participation of farmers in the training sessions.
  • Organize 40 field days in a year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in agriculture/horticulture, or any other degree with field experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motorcycle.
  • 1 year of experience as a trainer in extension education.
  • Ability to transfer vegetable production knowledge to farmers effectively.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the local language.
  • Fluent in Assamese.
