We are proud to announce that East-West Seed Knowledge Transfer (EWS-KT) Philippines has been accredited by the Philippine Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) as a National Regular Private Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Service Provider (PAF-ESP).

Established in 1999 by East-West Seed founder Simon N. Groot, EWS-KT Philippines provides quality horticultural advisory and extension services and enables the delivery of tailor-made solutions for smallholder farmers.

To ensure that the services provided by EWS-KT Philippines meet the specific standards set out by DA-ATI, accreditation inspectors visited EWS-KT locations in Bulacan and Bukidnon in December 2023. The on-site inspection and evaluation were deftly administered by DA-ATI staff, and accreditation was formalized on 13 December 2023.

DA-ATI’s Extension Service Provider accreditation program aims to expedite and enhance the provision of critical extension services to farmers, fisherfolk, Indigenous people, agrarian reform beneficiaries, and other key stakeholders. Accredited Extension Service Providers contribute to the attainment of national agricultural and fisheries goals while effectively serving DA-ATI’s target beneficiaries.

Becoming an accredited national Extension Service Provider increases public trust in EWS-KT Philippines and gives us the ability to reach more smallholder farmers across the country.

EWS-KT Philippines offers training in the following areas:

  • General Vegetable Production
  • Vegetable Production Using Natural Farming Systems (NFS)
