Paavan Kumar Reddy Gollapalli

Paavan Kumar Reddy Gollapalli, graduated from Acharya N G Ranga Agri. University with Agricultural Engineering degree (B. Tech.) and having a PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun. 

Before joining EWS KT, he worked with ITC Limited in the Social Investments Division to plan, review and monitor the natural resource management works specifically Water Stewardship in Uttarakhand, Springshed Management in Himachal Pradesh and Conservation Agriculture especially crop residue management in the rice-wheat cropping system in Punjab.

He has a rich experience in evaluation of irrigation schemes while working with Water and Land Management Training and Research Institute (WALAMTARI), Hyderabad, 10 irrigations projects in Andhra and Telangana states has been evaluated to find the water use efficiency, re-estimation of command areas for old irrigation schemes. A tool-kit developed by him on the canal network digitization using open-source GIS tools recognized by International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) and a module as a part of the Dam Safety Course is also included and twice “Young Professional Scholarship” has been awarded to attend trainings in Mexico and South Korea. He is also serving as Secretary of the Working Group of Sustainable Development of Tidal Areas (WG-SDTA) at ICID.

He worked with Watershed Organization Trust (WOTR) to implement the rural livelihood development project initiatives of the SRI in paddy and crop intensification techniques widely promoted to reduce the cultivation cost and enhance the income of the farmers in a sustainable way.

He is very keen in leveraging the new technologies adoption in tackling the age-old field level problems.
