Project Lead – India
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Guwahati / Sonitpur in Assam, India
About the Role:
The Project Lead will be responsible for managing the implementation of Knowledge Transfer projects in Assam. This role will coordinate all precommercial project activities. The Project Lead will lead and supervise the team of Technical Field Supervisors and Technical Field Advisers.
Responsibilities:
Implement the project activities and monitor project execution in the field
- Responsible for achieving the outreach and training targets
- Select new districts/blocks/villages to train smallholder farmers on profitable vegetable cultivation techniques
- Work closely with the villages at the grassroots level, especially with Panchayat representatives, self-help groups, farmer clubs, and youth groups, to ensure active participation of farmers in the trainings
- Develop yearly/quarterly/monthly plans for achieving outreach targets
- Prepare quarterly budgets, monthly project progress reports, and monthly expenditure reports
- Set up monthly targets for the Technical Field Supervisors and Technical Field Advisers
- Support the team of Technical Field Advisers to make effective monthly activity plans, including timeframe, schedule, and budget
- Carry out regular monitoring visits to project areas to ensure that targets are being met
- Support the Technical Field Supervisors in organizing logistics and coordination for field trainings and Field Days
- Ensure timely provision of all input materials for demonstration plots and training materials for farmer trainings
- Ensure that the trainings and Field Days are organized as per EWS-KT protocols and that the training targets are met
- Ensure that all operations adhere to EWS-KT and partner organizations’ policies and regulations
- Ensure that the team follows EWS-KT protocols and standard operating procedures in day-to-day operations
- Liaise with government departments, other NGOs, CSR companies, farmer associations, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualification:
- MA/MSc in agriculture or related field (preferred) or MBA in agribusiness/Masters in Social Work with relevant experience
Work Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in the agriculture sector at the grassroots level
- Proven track record of at least 3 years in managing projects individually
- Knowledge of participatory rural appraisal techniques and project management tools
- Experience in training farmers
- Experience in the agriculture sector
- Knowledge on data analysis in Excel is a must
- Good understanding of agriculture, agribusiness, and agriculture market in India
- Good project management skills and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and facilitation skills
Required Skills:
- Experience in writing reports and communication
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google office suite (preferred)
- Analytical mind with problem-solving skills
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
Personal Attributes:
- Independent thinking, practically oriented, creative approach to mix in farmers
- Good team player able to work together with various stakeholders
