ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Guwahati / Sonitpur in Assam, India

About the Role:

The Project Lead will be responsible for managing the implementation of knowledge Transfer projects in Assam. The incumbent will assist and coordinate all pre-commercial project activities. The incumbent will be leading & supervising the team of Technical Field supervisors and technical field advisers .

Responsibilities:

Implement the project activities and monitor the project execution in the field

  • Responsible for achieving the outreach and training targets
    Selection of new districts / blocks / villages to train smallholder farmers on profitable vegetable cultivation techniques
  • Work closely with the villages at grass root level especially with Panchayat representatives, Self help groups, farmer clubs, youth groups to assure active participation of farmers in the trainings
  • Developing yearly / quarterly / monthly plans for achieving outreach targets
  • Prepare quarterly budgets, monthly project progress reports and monthly expenditure reports
  • Setting up monthly targets for the Technical Field Supervisors (TFS) and Technical Field Advisors (TFAs)reporting to him/her.
  • Support team of Technical Field Officers to make effective monthly activity plans; timeframes, schedule and budget
  • Regular monitoring visits to project areas to assure that targets are being met
  • Support the TFS in organising logistics and coordination for field trainings and field days
  • Ensure timely provision of all input materials for demonstration plots and training materials for farmer trainings
  • Ensure that the trainings and field days are organised as per KT protocols and the training targets are met
  • Ensure that the operations adhere to EWS and partner organisations policies and regulations
  • Ensure team follows the KT protocols and Standard Operating Procedures of KT in day to day operations
  • Liaise with Government departments, other NGOs, CSR companies, Farmer associations etc.,

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Qualification:

  • MA/MSc in agriculture or related field (preferred) or MBA Agri business/Masters in Social Work with relevant experience

Work Experience

  • 5 – 8 Yrs of experience in the agriculture sector at the grassroots level
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in managing projects individually
  • Knowledge of Participatory Rural appraisal Techniques, project management tools is necessary
  • Experience in training the farmers in Having experience in Agriculture sector
  • Knowledge on Data analysis in Excel is a must
  • Good understanding of agriculture, agri-business and agriculture market in India
  • Good project management skills and problem solving skills
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and facilitation skills

Required Skills:

  • Experience in writing report and communication
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local languages.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google office suite (preferred)
  • Analytical mind with problem-solving skills
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitaskin.

Personal Attributes:

  • Independent thinking, practically oriented , creative approach to mix in farmers
  • Good team player able to work together with various stakeholder
